FAQs: Forest Foraging
What you need to know:
- Do I need a certain level of fitness for the walks?
The routes can be tailored to suit less (or more) active people. There will inevitably be some inclines, descents, woodland paths etc but if you let us know beforehand, we can accommodate a variety of walks.
- Do I need suitable walking footwear?
Any comfortable shoes that aren’t allergic to the occasional drop of mud would be ideal! During certain times of the year, there can be a lot of overgrowth so it’s best to be aware of low and high pricklies and branches.
- Can I arrange a longer walk?
Longer and shorter walks can always be arranged, from a quick one hour blast through the woods to full days out and more.
- Are the walks weather dependent?
Not at all. We’re just as happy in the rain as in glorious sunshine.
- What am I likely to see?
This is entirely seasonal and luck dependent. We find it is good to have no preconceptions and just go out enjoy whatever we come across.
- What else should I bring?
It is up to your discretion. From nothing but a bottle of water to a rucksack, cameras, tripods and Sherpa crew.
- Who will be my guide?
Your guide will be Alex who has substantial knowledge of the area and what you can discover en route.
